Health Education and Family Prevention Services

Outreach Workers: Part time Outreach Worker is needed for the LUCES HIV/AIDS prevention program to do outreach with persons living with HIV/AIDS and at-risk populations. Candidates must possess good communication skills and flexible schedule. 1-2 years experience in community education, social work, or related field required. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Prevention Specialist for Pediatric Asthma Prevention Program: Full time Asthma Prevention Specialist needed to work with children and families in their homes and in the community. The goal of the work is to teach chronic disease management skills and implement asthma prevention plans that promote health for youth and their families. Furthermore, the Prevention Specialist will conduct workshops to high risk families to teach about the disease of asthma and to identify those in need of individual case management. One year of experience in social work or case management. Bachelors degree and bilingual in English and Spanish required.

Family Resource Center

Part-time Therapist- Bilingual Therapist (English/Spanish) needed for domestic violence counseling program to:
Provide therapeutic counseling services to victims of domestic violence
Facilitate psychoeducational group counseling sessions
Review, design, update, and implement treatment plans with clients
Refer to HFC psychiatrist to ensure appropriate psychiatric service delivery
Coordinate services with staff psychiatrist and DV case manager/counselor
Maintain accurate and timely records and files

Requirements: Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field; 3 years of work experience in domestic violence or human services; Must be highly motivated and engaging. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer based reporting systems. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish. May need license depending upon degree.

Administrative Positions:

1) Hispanic Family Center seeks a seasoned professional with a Masters Degree and a minimum of 7 years of administrative experience to serve as Associate Executive Director of this multi services organization. 

The General Responsibilties of the Associate Executive Director are:
  • Supervises, oversees and handles highly complex project execution (e.g, proposals, quality assurance systems, reporting systems, etc.). 
  • Ensure completion of projects on time and within budget limits.
  • Participates as needed or directed on community partnership and planning committees.
  • Serves on the agency’s Management Team and provides leadership to all agency staff.
  • Provides support to Management Team members and leadership to all agency staff in absence of the Executive Director.
  • Works with the Executive Director to prepare, implement, evaluate, and report on the agency’s strategic plan.
  • Works with agency staff to prepare marketing materials
  • Interact with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure organizational processes and systems are in accordance with efficient and effective operations

2) Hispanic Family Center seeks a seasoned professional with a Bachelors degree and three years of relevant experience to serves as a Quality Assurance and Facilities Coordinator.

The General Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance and Facilities Coordinator are: to coordinate, develop and evaluate outcome activities for a multi-service social services organization.  Also includes responsibility for ensuring the safety and maintenance of all facilities.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Development of QA reports
  • Quality Assurance Review of Consumer files
  • Analysis and selection (with managerial input) of QA indicators
  • Participation on QA committee 
  • Completion of outcomes measurement
  • Supervison of maintenance staff
  • Coordination of maintenance activities (e.g., between staff and vendors)
  • Infection and Disease Control
  • Ensuring compliance with licensure and Medicaid regulations
  • Risk Management including Employee/Consumer Health and Safety

Internships

The Hispanic Family Center offers an internship program to BSW and MSW students enrolled in local colleges and universities. Students taking part in the program are paired with an experienced staff member who also serves as their internship advisor. HFC works with areas colleges to allow students to recieve college credits for their internship experience. Please note, we receive many applications for interns.
