English as a Second Language and Civics for Adults

English as a second language (ESL) classes are offered to new immigrants, college students and other adults whose first language is something other than English. Classes are offered at varying levels of difficulty to match students’ differing needs and prior proficiency in English.

  • ESL programs are offered at the basic, intermediate or advanced levels
  • Classes are three hours long, offered four times a week
  • Course cycles last eight weeks. However, students can re-enroll for additional cycles.

ESL/Civics

provides contextual instruction on the rights and responsibilities of
citizenship, naturalization procedures, civic participation and U.S. history
and government while teaching English as a Second Language. Students in the
Civics class are well prepared for the U.S. citizenship written exam and oral
interview.

Services are available Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
